SIRSA: The Haryana government would recruit 30,000 new teachers during the current financial year and would also promote 8,000 headmasters.
Stating this at a seminar on education development here on Wednesday, Member of Parliament Ashok Tanwar said the state government would spend 20% of its total budget for providing quality education
He said, “The recruitment of teachers will be on merit basis which will ensure selection of better teachers and also i mprove the quality of education.”
Tanwar said according to the survey conducted at national level by a voluntary organisation Pratham, it was found that Haryana had more a educational facilities as compared with other states.
He said Aarohi and Kasturba Gandhi schools were set up in the state to provide quality education to children in rural areas.
As many as 36 Aarohi schools have been set up by the Central government in Haryana, out of which six are located only in Sirsa.
Tanwar said, “The state government has initiated various schemes to provide education to students belonging to poor families. Under its scholarship scheme, a huge amount is being given as incentive.”
He said Central and state governments had adopted several measures to maintain transparency in all recruitments.
The MP said under the MP Local Area Development Fund, efforts had been made to spend maximum funds on development of infrastructure.
Under this scheme, 60 schools were equipped with computer projector in Sirsa district. After Andhra Pradesh, Sirsa parliamentary constituency was second to have schools equipped with such projectors, he added.
